Privacy Policy
At Thingbook ("we", "us", or "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of our users ("you"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use our SaaS Cloud APIs, or deploy our Edge Engine.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, request API keys, or contact support.
- Account Information: Name, email address, company name, and job title.
- SaaS & API Data: When you use our Cloud APIs (e.g., CSV X-Ray, Forecast endpoints), we collect data transiently to perform the requested analysis.
- Security & Traffic Logs: We record the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of all clients accessing our API and SaaS services. This is strictly used for traffic control, rate limiting, and security monitoring to detect and prevent abuse such as Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
- Usage Data: We may collect metrics on system performance (e.g., latency, error rates) to improve our services.
2. Data Processing: Edge vs. SaaS
We offer two distinct modes of operation with different data privacy implications:
- Edge Engine (Local Mode): Data processed by the Thingbook Edge Engine (TEE) running on your own infrastructure remains on your device. We do not receive your raw sensor data unless you explicitly configure a sync to our cloud.
- Cloud API (SaaS Mode): If you use our hosted API endpoints (including the "CSV X-Ray" tool or Cloud Developer Keys), your data is transmitted to our secure servers for processing. This data is processed transiently for the purpose of generating predictions and is stored only according to your retention plan settings.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your access via API Keys.
- Provide SaaS forecasting and anomaly detection results.
- Maintain system security and prevent fraudulent use.
- Process transactions and manage subscription plans.
- Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Thingbook (including our Website, API, and Edge Software), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. SaaS & API Usage
When using our Cloud API services:
- API Keys: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys. You may not share keys between organizations.
- Traffic Control: We monitor API traffic to protect system stability. We reserve the right to throttle or block IP addresses that demonstrate abusive behavior or exceed rate limits.
- Rate Limits: API access is subject to rate limits defined by your subscription plan (e.g., Free, Pro, Enterprise). Excessive usage may result in temporary throttling or suspension.
- Data Transmission: You grant Thingbook a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and process the data you upload via the API solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
3. Edge License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Thingbook grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and install a copy of the Thingbook Edge Engine (TEE) on devices you own or control.
4. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the binary software.
- Use the API to build a competing forecasting service.
- Attempt to bypass our traffic control or security measures (DoS/DDoS).
- Exceed the token or credit limits of your purchased plan.
5. Liability Limitation
Thingbook is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We explicitly disclaim all warranties of any kind. In no event shall Thingbook be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
